My hero this Christmas is Mayor Stephen Acropolis of Brick Township,

New Jersey. You’ve heard about the War on Christmas, where the ACLU and other secularists try to remove all vestiges of religious holidays from parks, parades, and other public places.
But mayor Acropolis sounds a different note. When he presides over the tree-lighting ceremony, he says very intentionally, “Now we’ll light our Christmas tree.” On December 22, he also lit a menorah to celebrate Hanukkah–noting that he does not refer to it as a holiday candle.
As he points out, the law says you can’t promote a specific religtion but “nowhere in the law says you’re not allowed to have a Christmas tree.” Another common sense civic leader, making democracy work.
Merry Christmas to all.
